The questions that need to be answered by you firstly, can I save money by integrating DAI's carapace body on a selected chassis, or is it simply that I can build a vehicle “my way” with security in mind, equipping my vehicles without telling the world what I have cached inside my carapace armored body? This could be one idea for our you to consider, but with some imagination, DAI is sure that there are hundreds of other good and viable reasons to take on the job of assembling your own armored vehicle!

As you now know, you need to take charge and your first job is to inspect, and your subsequent job is to oversee the installation of your carapace armored body kit on the truck chassis you have selected. Your carapace armored body kit can be customized and fitted on a host of worldwide chassis types including the larger Ford and Dodge platforms manufactured in North America.
Our armor products are designed to increase real time situational awareness for the armored vehicle drivers and passengers. With the exceptional ballistic protection in our carapace armored body kits, and the survivability of vehicle occupants when in the most violent situations that could ever be experienced, whether in peacekeeping, any commercial endeavours or in the aid of civil authorities in rescue, public disobedience, or violent confrontations, or even to give peace of mind to the road traveling VIP, you will know that you took on the responsibility of ensuring that your people have the very best of protection!
As to what DAI has on offer, initially let us consider what you can assemble and what you can build up from our basic carapace body kit.
You know what you want, and one of our designs will be fit for your purpose. It may then be that you want to select an open roof hatch. Possibly a higher armor protection level or alternative windows. Insulation in the hollow deck between interior and outer armor. Just tell us what you want and we will tell you how we can help and recommend certain parameters that do exist that you will need to follow.
To start off, the basic primer paint and carapace body kit is as an armored shell of one external ballistic layer, usually protected to the European CEN B6 level and that includes the following bolt together module sections:
- Vertical armor and horizontal roof, interior framed ready for your supplemental air condition unit.
- Five hinged doors.
- Hood and front clip that includes inner fenders.
- Frontal protection with specified headlight and marker light cut-outs
- Four BCF/Aramid fenders.
- Floor frame with chassis “C” channel clad below with welded 3mm BHN 450 Hard Steel and chassis mounting bushings.
- Interior two-inch frame ready to mount supplemental interior upgraded armored fascia wall.
- Bolts and critical hardware.
The chassis and other strategic materials will be identified to you by way of our Bill of Materials (BOM). In this regard, DAI can supply the materials and accessories with a 25% mark up, or you have another option, you can source your own chassis and suppliers. Likewise, for the chassis mounting of the armored carapace using your own fitters and assemblers. Or, DAI can make recommendations for qualified sub-contractors with their fitters and assemblers with a fixed price negotiated by you with the assistance of DAI.
Likewise with interior trimmers and upholsters, we are armourers, we do not provide a turnkey approach to fully assembling armored vehicles such as is necessary with interior trimming. We leave trimming to the experts. Therefore you must take on the responsibility of completing your own armored vehicle. We can engage trimming craftsmen on your behalf from our recommended sub contractors, but again, if we are to oversee your craftsmen, it will be at our usual fee of 25% over the cost.

If this is the type of trimming you require you can source many qualified skilled craftsmen in your home territory or DAI can make recommendations. Otherwise we can recommend that the interior and exterior painting can be undertaken within any automotive painting shop.
